Welcome to West End Football Club
A vibrant, community-focused website for one of Aberdeen’s largest children’s football clubs built to showcase teams, celebrate growth, and attract players, volunteers, and supporters.
West End Football Club is a community-based children’s football club in Aberdeen, Scotland, founded in 2012 with just 16 children. Today, they field teams across 12 age groups, include a thriving girls’ section of over 120 players, and proudly hold the SFA Gold Quality Mark. I built their digital home to reflect that remarkable growth and community spirit.
Problem
West End FC had an inspiring story growing from 16 children to hundreds of players across 12 age groups, earning the SFA Gold Quality Mark, and building one of Aberdeen’s strongest girls’ pathways but their online presence didn’t tell that story. The previous site lacked structure, made it difficult for parents to find team information, and failed to convey the club’s scale, achievements, and community impact. It also didn’t effectively support recruitment of new players, volunteers, or showcase their charity status and affiliations.
Solution
I designed a warm, structured website that puts the club’s identity and achievements front and center. The “Who We Are” section tells their founding story and growth journey with pride. Affiliations and the SFA Gold Quality Mark are prominently displayed as trust badges. Team information, girls’ section details, and the 120-strong coaching roster are clearly organized. A dedicated news section keeps content fresh and the community engaged. The design is inclusive, energetic, and mobile-friendly perfectly reflecting a club that’s about more than football: it’s a community hub committed to inclusion, development, and sustainability.
